California Building Inspections — Semper Fi Home Inspections
Effective date: April 23, 2026
Last updated: September 27, 2026
This policy covers californiabuildinginspections.com and the inspection services we provide. It explains what we collect, why, who it goes to, and how long we keep it.
The Semper Fi Home Inspections app, which we market on this site, is a separate product with its own privacy policy. Section 7 explains the difference and links to it.

2. What This Website Collects
When You Use the Contact Form
-
Your name
-
Your phone number
-
Your email address
-
The property address you are asking about
-
Anything else you choose to type in the message
That is the only form on this site. We do not take bookings, payments or newsletter sign-ups through it.
Automatically, as You Browse
-
Aggregate traffic counts: which pages were viewed, and which site referred you, at country level
-
Standard technical information any web server receives to deliver a page
This site is built on Wix, which sets cookies necessary to make the site work and to measure traffic. We do not run advertising trackers, retargeting pixels or session recording on this site.
3. What We Collect When You Hire Us
An inspection produces records about you and about the property:
-
Your name, contact details and billing information
-
The property address and details of the property
-
Photographs taken during the inspection, including the interior of the building
-
The inspector's observations, findings and the finished report
-
Your signed inspection agreement
We collect this to perform the inspection you asked for, produce your report, and keep the professional record a licensed inspector is expected to keep.
4. How We Use It
-
To answer your inquiry and schedule an inspection
-
To perform the inspection and produce your report
-
To send you your report and any documents relating to it
-
To take payment and keep the accounting records we are required to keep
-
To answer questions about a past inspection, including from you, your agent, or a party you direct us to
-
To defend a claim about an inspection we performed, if one is made
-
To comply with the law
We do not sell your personal information, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not share it with data brokers, advertisers or lead-generation companies. We do not send you marketing you did not ask for.
5. Who Else Sees It
-
Wix – hosts this website and receives contact form submissions – what you type into the contact form, and aggregate traffic data
-
Semper Fi Home Inspections app – the software we use to produce your report – the inspection record, including the property address, your name and the photographs
-
Our accountant and payment processor – billing and tax records – your name and transaction details
-
Anyone you tell us to send the report to – at your request – your report
We do not otherwise disclose your information, except where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
Your report is yours. We do not send it to a real estate agent, a contractor, a lender or anyone else unless you ask us to.
6. Photographs of Your Property
An inspection means photographing the inside and outside of a building, sometimes including possessions in the shot.
Those photographs go into your report and stay in the inspection record. We do not publish them, post them on social media, or use them in marketing without asking you first and getting your agreement in writing. If we ever want to use a photograph as an example of a defect, we will ask, and a no costs you nothing.
7. The Semper Fi Home Inspections App
We build and sell an inspection app for other inspectors, and we market it on this website. It is a separate product with its own privacy policy.
If you are a client of our inspection services, this policy is the one that applies to you. The app is simply the tool we use to write your report.
If you are an inspector who signs up for the app, that account is governed by the app's own policy, which covers what an inspector's account stores, the third parties involved, the 60-day retention rule, and account deletion.
Read it here: www.semperfiservicesolutions.com/privacypolicy
In short: the app stores the inspections an inspector creates, syncs them, and generates documents. It does not send reports to any AI company, does not run product analytics, does not track which screens are used, does not collect location, and never sells data. Deleting an account deletes its contents.
8. How Long We Keep It
-
Contact form inquiries that do not become a job – kept while we are in contact with you, then deleted
-
Inspection records and reports – kept for the period a licensed inspector may need to answer for the work, which for California home inspections is at least four years
-
Billing records – kept as long as tax and accounting rules require
-
Photographs – kept with the inspection record they belong to
You can ask us to delete your information sooner. We will do so unless we are required to keep it, and if we are, we will tell you which record and why.
9. Security
Contact form submissions and inspection records are held on managed cloud services that encrypt data in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the owner. We do not keep client records on paper, on unencrypted drives, or on personal devices belonging to anyone outside the business.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any regulator required by law, without unreasonable delay.
10. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to:
-
Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose
-
Access a copy of what we hold about you
-
Correct anything inaccurate
-
Delete your personal information, subject to the retention periods in section 8
-
Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information – we do not sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of
-
Limit the use of sensitive personal information – we do not collect sensitive personal information as that term is defined
-
Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any of them, email semperfiowner@gmail.com or call 650-489-2592. We will verify who you are before releasing anything, and respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent.
The categories we collect are identifiers, commercial information, and visual information in the photographs taken during an inspection. We collect them for the purposes in section 4 and keep them for the periods in section 8.
11. Children
This website and our services are for adults arranging property inspections. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after that date means you accept the updated policy.
